I have chosen The Pearl by John Steinbeck because i found the cover of the book interesting, it really caught my eye. As i read the back cover i got even more interested in the book because i could tell its a story with a lot of emotion and adventure. The book is about a guy named Kino, who just like his grandfather and father is a poor diver who gathers pearls, "then one day like any other, he merges into the sea and finds a pearl as large as a sea gull's eggs and as perfect as a moon. With the pearl comes hope, the promise of comfort and of security....." Makes you wonder what types of friends/enemy's and positive/negative things will happen to Kino along the way with the new discovery of this pearl.
